In Her Footsteps

Greetings of peace and joy in the precious Name of Jesus.
Once there was a woman called Renuka  in a village. She     had ten children. So every day was a hectic day. She was busy all the time in her household works like preparing food, giving bath to her children etc. Her youngest child was so cute and never left her for a moment. He was always at her heels. Every time when she stopped walking and turned back, she used to trip over him. She would suggest him some funny activities to keep him occupied. But he would just simply smile and say , “Oh that’s alright Mom! I’d rather be with you.” Then he would bounce happily along behind her. This was repeated for many times. Then she lost her patience at a moment of time and insisted him to go out and play with other children. In that exasperated anger, she asked him why he was always behind her. The cute boy with charming eyes told her,  “ Dear Mom, my teacher in the school told me to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Since I could not see Jesus, so I’m walking in your steps.” Considerably moved by his words she took him in her arms and kissed him. Tears of love and joy rolled from her eyes.
Yes dear friends, mother is our first teacher in this universe and then comes all the others. Her  way of life, her nature, her love and warmth, her guidance show us the way we should walk. As in the story the little boy walked in the footsteps of his mother so as we too need to walk in the footsteps of Our heavenly Mother, Mary, to reach Jesus, Her Son.
What are the Footsteps of Our Mother
Here I give three important paths of our beloved mother.

1. Path of Complete Surrenderance.
Her Yes to the angel’s message is a sign of complete surrenderance. She might have known the consequences of bearing a child in her womb without the cooperation of her husband, Joseph. This critical Yes could bring death upon her. Book of Deuteronomy 22:20-21 clearly explains this law.. Even then she completely surrendered herself in the loving hands of God. God, who protects his children from all dangers, protected her from all dangers to fulfill His salvific mission.
2. Path of Humility
Humility is the other key path of Mary that we all should walk. Though she was a highly favored of the Most High, full of all graces, born immaculate, she did not regard prestigious positions and praises in this world. Yet, she humbly went and served her cousin Elizabeth at her birth pangs. Those who humble themselves will be exalted and those who exalt themselves will be humbled. Mary is a perfect example of this. She humbled herself and now she is exalted as the Queen of Heaven and Earth.

3. Path of Sacrifice.
Mary stands here as a sign of complete sacrifice. Her life is full of sacrifices. She sacrificed all her enjoyments, her desires, her whole life, her Son Jesus etc for the salvation of all the mankind. This sacrifice of her brought us the fruits of salvation.
Yes, my friends if we walk in the footsteps of our Mother, then we are sure in walking in the footsteps of Jesus. Amen.
